We live in one of the poorest regions of Chile. Most people who live here, if they live outside of town, rely on natural springs and streams for water. Very few people have wells from which they can draw water, let alone wells that go down more than a few meters. When summer comes, and the rain clouds depart people hope that there was enough rain during winter to replenish what was drain the prior summer.
